The post holder will work within the Clinical Site Team to support the Trust with effective patient flow and site management.
They will contribute to the smooth running of all aspects of patient flow across the site, including assessment areas and wards, by providing real-time capacity information from ward and unit area via clinical staff to the Clinical Site Team as requested, ensuring information shared promptly and accurately as directed by the Site Matron and the wider MDT as requested.
The role will be shift based with weekend working included via the hours off 7am and 7pm.
Main duties of the jobA Patient Flow Assistant plays a vital part in ensuring that patients move safely, efficiently, and smoothly through the hospital.
The role supports the Clinical Site Management and operational teams to maintain effective patient flow, helping ensure that every patient is placed in the right bed at the right time and receives safe, high quality care.
The ideal person will bring -
Strong organisational and coordination skills supporting bed allocation, patient transfers, and the creation of capacity where needed, similar to the responsibilities of Patient Flow Coordinators who contribute to planning, admissions and patient movement.
Excellent communication confidently liaising with wards, Clinical Site Managers, Integrated Discharge Teams and other colleagues to maintain safe flow and escalae issues promptly.
Calmness under pressure the hospital environment is fast paced and requires someone who can prioritise, problem solve and support flow during busy and challenging periods.
A team focused mindset working collaboratively across care groups to facilitate smooth admissions, transfers, and discharges in line with Trust priorities and pathways.

Person Specification Qualifications- At least 4 GCSEs at Grade A C or level 4 - 9
