Job Description
Do you want to make a lasting positive change to the environment? As a Senior Advisor in the UK BAT team you can. You will be responsible for supporting the drafting of BAT Conclusions, liaising with Technical Working Groups and presenting a final document suitable for publication as a new, UK‑wide, environmental standard for industry.
- Assist in drafting BAT Conclusions and coordinating the publication of technical documents.
- Liaise with UK and EU industrial stakeholders and Technical Working Groups.
- Present findings and proposals to senior stakeholders, ensuring clear and persuasive communication.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality and timeliness in all outputs.
- Support and promote inclusive workforce objectives and flexible working arrangements.
- Engage in continuous improvement of processes, embracing innovation to enhance delivery.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in environmental regulation.
- Solid understanding of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation, including the IED and Environmental Permitting Regulations.
- Experience coordinating and reviewing the publication of technical documents.
- Knowledge of the implications of BAT Conclusions in permits and on industry and the environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence and persuade diverse stakeholders.
- Project management experience with demonstrable delivery of results on time and to standard.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Communicating Effectively – uses clear, persuasive methods in both written and oral formats.
- Influencing and Persuading – builds consensus and presents convincing arguments.
- Achieving Results – sets high standards, prioritises tasks and delivers outcomes under pressure.
