Shift Operations Technician – Biomass Power Station

SCINERGY are recruiting for a Shift Operations Technician / Shift Plant Operator / Assistant Shift Team Leader to join a 40MW biomass power station near Sheffield.

This role will focus on the safe and efficient operation of the plant, ensuring performance targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of safety, environmental compliance and reliability The role will involve starting, stopping and monitoring the plant via a DCS ensuring the plant operates safely and within its environmental parameters.

The role will involve:

* Starting, stopping and monitoring boilers, steam turbines, pumps, water treatment plant and associated auxiliary systems via the DCS

* Carrying out routine plant inspections and operational checks

* Performing basic first-line maintenance activities and reporting defects to the Shift Team Leader

* Supporting planned shutdowns and outage activities to minimise downtime

* Monitoring CEMS and making operational adjustments where required

* Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with site HSE procedures and permit-to-work systems

* Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and plant presentation

To be considered for this role, you should have:

* Operational experience gained in a heavy process environment involving high-pressure steam generation such as power generation, biomass, EFW or similar

* Ideally a recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, ONC, apprenticeship or equivalent)

* A strong understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance

* A flexible approach and willingness to work a 12-hour shift pattern
