Overview
EMBS Engineering Ltd is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer, located in Rotherham that is currently in the market for a Quality Engineer to join their company on a permanent basis.
Due to internal changes and off the back of continued success, our client is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join a new, dynamic team. The role is a pure addition to the existing team, designated to support specific value streams and enhance the company's continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Address internal Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and customer complaints efficiently.
- Conduct strong root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys) to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Collaborate with continuous improvement teams and product engineers to implement sustainable solutions.
- Update and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), documentation, and risk assessments.
- Ensure all quality-related data and processes are thoroughly documented across CAQ, ERP/SAP, Explorer, Excel, Word, AI, SharePoint, and Cloud systems.
- Drive tasks to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and relevant meetings are scheduled.
- Work across two distinct value streams: wet products (wrapping, raw product making, tube preparation) and dry products (machining, sawing, sanding, packing, dispatch).

- Continuous Improvement & Analytical Acumen: A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement, coupled with strong root cause analysis skills to effectively address quality challenges.
- Technical & Digital Proficiency:
High computer proficiency and the adaptability to quickly learn and master various internal systems, including CAQ, ERP/SAP, Explorer, Excel, Word, AI, SharePoint, Cloud, and Access. - Dynamic & Practical Application: A hands-on, dynamic approach to quality engineering, actively engaging with processes and finding practical solutions.
- Documentation & Process Adherence:
Exceptional ability to document processes and procedures with thoroughness and accuracy, alongside a strong commitment to best practices and established quality mindsets. - Quality System Expertise:
Required knowledge of ISO 9001; experience with AS 9100 (aerospace equivalent) is highly desirable. - Lean Six Sigma Certification:
Possession of a Yellow or Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma is a distinct advantage. - Audit
Experience:
Internal or external audit training is a plus. - Experience-Driven Insight: A proven track record of hands-on, real-life experience is highly valued, complementing or, in some cases, superseding academic qualifications.
