Position: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing
Pay: 88.94 - 95 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)
Start Date: ASAP or from a start date that suits you

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant in Rotherham, you will play a vital role supporting teaching and learning within mainstream classroom environments. You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, including children with additional needs, helping them to engage, progress and build confidence in their learning.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about education who enjoys variety, flexibility and making a positive impact on pupils' school experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils, including those with SEN, within mainstream classrooms
  Support teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities
  Encourage pupil participation, confidence and independence
  Assist with behaviour management and positive learning routines
  Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and school staff to meet individual pupil needs

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar classroom-based role (desirable)
  Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  A patient, empathetic and flexible approach
  A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
  Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
  Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning are advantageous
