Workshop LV Technician / MOT Tester
- Pay: £16.62 per hour PAYE or £21.58 via umbrella
- Location:
Hellaby - Job Type: Full-time - Monday - Friday 7:30am-15:30
Join our client in their Workshop Maintenance Team as a Workshop LV Technician / MOT Tester. This role involves maintaining a fleet of over 200 council vehicles and grounds-maintenance equipment. If you have a passion for vehicle maintenance and a current MOT Testing licence, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct up to 8 MOT/Taxi Compliance tests per day to DVSA standards.
- Diagnose faults, inspect, repair, and prepare vehicles for MOT.
- Utilise modern diagnostic tools to work on a diverse range of vehicles.
- Update records in the Taxi Compliance database.
- Attend to breakdowns and accident-damaged vehicles as required.
- Assist with new vehicle inspections and vehicle decommissioning.
- You will be part of a supportive team environment with opportunities for skill development as new technologies are introduced.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Current MOT Testing Licence.
- Light Vehicle Inspection qualification or substantial relevant work experience.
- City & Guilds/IMI Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proficiency in computer usage.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience in Taxi compliance testing is desirable but not essential.
