Activities Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a caring and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our team at Spring River Rehabilitation and Care Center in Roswell, NM. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing engaging activities, promoting socialization, and fostering a sense of community.

• Plan and implement a variety of activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents, including arts, crafts, exercise, games, and leisure activities
• Coordinate with the Activities Director to ensure the smooth operation of activities programs
• Assist with the preparation and setup of activities, including decorating, music, and equipment needs
• Encourage resident participation and engagement, providing support and assistance as needed
• Maintain accurate records and reports of activities, including attendance and feedback
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure a holistic approach to resident care
• Develop and maintain relationships with local organizations and community groups to expand activity options and resources

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or degree in a related field preferred
• 0 years of experience in a healthcare or senior living setting; willingness to learn and grow with our team
• Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if applicable)
