About New Mexico Military Institute
The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) is a state-supported, co-educational institution offering college preparatory education at the high school and junior college levels. With a student body of up to 1,000 cadets, NMMI provides a comprehensive academic experience complemented by Junior and Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. The high school curriculum is fully accredited, preparing students for higher education and post-secondary studies.
The junior college program facilitates cadet transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Additionally, NMMI houses the Intermediate Preparatory Academy (IPA) for grades 6-8. The IPA delivers a distinctive curriculum emphasizing immersive, intensive, hands‑on learning in a structured environment.
Under the supervision of the Global Enrollment and Marketing Director, the Global Enrollment Student Support Specialist is responsible for developing, leading, and carrying out innovative strategies and relationship‑building activities to address the unique needs of NMMI’s growing domestic and international student population. The Global Enrollment Student Support Specialist will assist with the orientation of new students – in person and online – to better prepare them as they enter the military school environment.
This is an exempt, 12‑month, full‑time position with an annual salary starting at $45,000.00 – $50,000.00. The job description is available upon request.
- Assist the Global Enrollment and Marketing Director by serving as a resource and point of contact to administration, faculty, and staff on all issues pertaining to domestic and international students.
- Provide support, guidance, and information to domestic and international students and parents on the unique needs of a military school setting.
- Collaborate with Development and Alumni Relations staff to build relationships with domestic and international alumni and connect alumni with current students.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience working with diverse students and ability to relate to students from various backgrounds and countries/display cultural sensitivity.
- Understanding of NMMI high school and higher education processes and environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills/public speaking experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently independently and as part of a team.
- Desire to consult and collaborate with other faculty and staff.
- Associate’s degree or 3 years equivalent experience
- Maintains confidentiality at times.
- Bachelor’s degree.
