Company Overview

Site One Landscape Supply is the largest national distributor of landscaping products across the United States and Canada. As a leading supplier of wholesale goods for green industry professionals, we have a long history of serving those who design, build, and maintain outdoor spaces – from lawns and gardens to golf courses, sports fields, and more. We pride ourselves on knowing our customers and their business better than anyone else and providing them with a one-stop shop of extensive inventory covering irrigation, lighting, turf and landscape maintenance, hardscapes, nursery, and pest control supplies.

Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Hardscape Procurement will drive procurement strategy for the Hardscape product line, ensuring strong product availability, margin growth, and inventory health across the network. Partnering closely with Category, Planning, and Field Leadership, this leader will translate strategy into execution—owning the supply strategy, forecasting alignment, vendor commitments, and product flow through Site One’s Hardscape procurement system. We are seeking a strong leader who can further develop and elevate our Purchasing team.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the end-to-end Hardscape supply strategy, ensuring strong product availability, quality, and timely, accurate order fulfillment.
  • Support first-line leaders by helping them develop and strengthen their managerial and leadership skills, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Lead seasonal forecast reviews and supply planning (including core item review, presentation quantities, and max-on-hand targets), partnering with Category, Demand Planning, and Field Leadership to execute the Hardscape strategy and drive profitable growth, margin expansion, and inventory health.
  • Conduct regular branch-level reviews to evaluate inventory levels, buying strategies, trucking options, product flow, trends, obsolescence, shortages, and profitability.
  • Provide ongoing supply strategy insights, updates, and recommendations to Field Leadership, Regional, and Divisional teams.
  • Partner closely with Field Leadership and Category to ensure regional strategies align with procurement needs, including timely drawdown of vendor commitments and clear communication of over- or under-pull risks.
  • Strengthen and support vendor relationships, including Vendor Direct programs, ensuring alignment across supply, logistics, and execution.
  • Lead and maintain the Supply Strategy process in the procurement system, ensuring data accuracy (SOQs, committed units, quantities) and issue resolution that impacts fulfillment.
  • Train, coach, and lead Hardscape Purchasing Agents on procurement systems, processes, and best practices.
  • Coach and educate branch associates on core procurement workflows to drive understanding, buy-in, and consistent execution.
  • Participate in Regional and Divisional meetings, providing product-line analysis, inventory insights, and operational support.

Travel expectations:

  • Up to 30% out-of-state travel may be required, including but not limited to branch visits, regional meetings, and supplier engagements.
Skills We Are Seeking
  • 10+ years of experience in retail or wholesale purchasing or procurement; experience in landscape supplies, building materials or an adjacent industry preferred
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, leading buying or procurement teams
  • Proven experience with financially incentivized purchasing programs, such as rebate structures and Early Buy / Early Order Programs (EOP)
  • Strong track record of cross-functional collaboration with Category teams, Field Leadership, and senior procurement leadership
  • Demonstrated success managing product inventory at scale, balancing availability, turns, and profitability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with a customer-first mindset
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cost and margin management
