As a growing mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC, piping, and plumbing engineering services, we are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our expanding team.
This position works directly with a Senior Project Manager, supporting both office and field operations throughout the full project lifecycle. The Project Engineer plays a key role in ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget — from pre-construction through closeout.
Position OverviewReporting to a Senior Project Manager, this role provides daily coordination and technical support across estimating, scheduling, purchasing, documentation, and field activities. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and is eager to take ownership of assigned responsibilities while developing into a future project leader.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Senior Project Manager with day-to-day office and field operations
- Assist with project estimates, written proposals, and scope development
- Track and maintain project budgets, cost reports, and accounting documentation
- Prepare and process change orders and related documentation
- Coordinate subcontractor and vendor purchase orders
- Assist in developing and updating project schedules
- Monitor submittals, RFIs, invoices, and progress reports
- Support quality control efforts including site visits and punch list coordination
- Maintain organized project documentation, including close-out packages, warranties, and compliance records
- Ensure all activities align with company policies and safety standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, or related field
- 1–3 years of construction or project experience preferred (mechanical/HVAC experience a plus)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit preferred
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in both office and field settings
