Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced and detailed-oriented Senior Accountant to join the Accounting/Finance team. This role is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day Accounting/Finance operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will perform accounting analyses for various transactions and ensure an accurate and timely month-end close process.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Prepare assigned journal entries
- Perform assigned fixed asset and lease accounting duties
- Assist in the preparation of SEC 10Q/10-K schedules and supporting analyses
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, as assigned. Review and analyze account balances and report on trends and exceptions
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
- Reconcile or assist in reconciling assigned subledgers to the general ledger and resolving discrepancies
- Participate in assigned systems validation, and verification
- Complete ad hoc reporting to support business analysis questions. Develop skills to extract and sort information posted to the general ledger using Oracle financial tools. Use spreadsheets (including Excel) and other tools to explain variances
- Analyze specific areas of the balance sheet. Explain variances to prior periods and to plan
- Respond to inquiries from Accounting/Finance leaders and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests
- Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the activities enumerated above.
- Good problem-solving skills, which include well-supported proposed solutions to issues
- Must be detailed oriented with a strong ability to multitask
- Organized, flexible, self-starter
- Consistently meets critical deadlines
- Strong spreadsheet experience required (experience with pivot tables, for example).
- Good written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 2 to 5 years prior accounting experience,
- Oracle knowledge preferred
- Understanding of US GAAP
Certifications:
- CPA track preferred
