We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Accountant to join our finance team in supporting a growing engineering and environmental services firm. This role plays a key part in maintaining the company’s financial accuracy and compliance while partnering with cross-functional teams to inform business decisions and uphold sound fiscal practices.

• Lead general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accuracy of financial data.
• Prepare, analyze, and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to meet reporting deadlines.
• Conduct balance sheet analyses and variance reviews to support financial integrity.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes to provide insight for operational planning.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with policies.
• Collaborate with external auditors and respond to audit inquiries with supporting documentation.
• Assist with accounts payable/receivable functions, cash management, and other accounting operations as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
• Several years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within professional services, engineering, construction, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger processes.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP/financial software preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
