About

the Role

As a Pupil Support Worker, you'll work side‑by‑side with teachers and pupils to build a calm, nurturing, and positive classroom environment where students can thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and small group support in lessons across a range of subjects
  • Help implement tailored educational programmes and behaviour plans
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, encouraging positive relationships and self‑belief
  • Prepare learning materials and resources to bring lessons to life
  • Accompany pupils and staff on educational visits and enrichment activities
  • Occasionally support with transporting pupils (e.g. after detentions or school trips)
  • Keep clear records of student progress and wellbeing, contributing to a holistic picture of each learner
What We’re Looking For
  • Has Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Has a calm, patient and caring approach—especially in challenging moments
  • Loves working with young people and is passionate about making learning accessible for everyone
  • Can build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff alike
  • Has experience working with secondary‑age pupils (ideal but not essential)
  • Can work as part of a team but is also confident taking initiative
  • Believes in the potential of every student—and won’t give up on them
