Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager is a sales professional who specializes in understanding all of the technical aspects of a product and supports the entire sales and implementation process of the products.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work with the customers, distributors and engineers to ensure the equipment meets the application requirements and maintain a high level of rapport.
- Work with existing costing structures to maintain company wide profit margin objectives.
- Communicate directly or indirectly through distribution to understand customer demands and offer sales support where necessary.
- Work with inside sales team to generate quotes and customer support.
- Interact with marketing business unit managers to create future products and services.
- Attend and support trade shows if applicable for the region.
- Travel domestically within region to support distributors and key accounts.
- Recommend new and improved products to the customers and explain how the equipment will be more cost-effective.
- Prepare and give technical presentations to explain to customers how the products work.

- Ability to review and understand engineering prints and models. Identify root cause of customer issues. Communicate effectively with both internal and external engineers on technical design topics. Have a working knowledge of dynamic mechanical design and automotive powertrain components.
Solve practical problems and deal with variables during customer interactions using the knowledge of product and company capabilities. Maintains customer satisfaction. Maintains records and promptly submits information. Overcomes objections with persuasion and persistence. Have a fast paced but calculated approach.
Project Management AbilityManage flow of information in and out of the building pertaining to a specific customer project. Follow proper digital file storage practices common to the company’s practices.
Travel RequirementsRegional management of multiple states will require travel frequency of 1-2 times per month. Valid driver’s license required. Ability to travel by air required. Sales manager will be responsible for booking all travel and then expensing for reimbursement from Fas Test.
Roseville Plant AttendanceOnboarding will take place in Roseville, Minnesota at Fas Test’s manufacturing facility. Once Onboarding is complete the Regional Sales Manager will be able to choose their own work from location. Details on work remote guidelines will adhere to company wide policies.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering or another technical field. Minimum 5 years in a technical sales role preferred if not a degreed engineer.
Computer SkillsMicrosoft Office Suite:
Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Customer Relationship Management software experience desired.
Position will require residence within region of coverage. Ability to travel domestically required.
