Overview
Lottery Sales Representative position with the Minnesota State Lottery. Telework Eligible: N/A. This role involves promoting Lottery products, recruiting retailers, presenting to business owners/managers, and engaging with the public ed out of the Roseville Headquarters Office, covering the Metro North Region.
Responsibilities- Promote Lottery products and services to approximately 115 retailers within the territory.
- Identify potential new retailers and recruit them as Lottery retailers.
- Make sales presentations to business owners and managers to increase sales through training, promotions, and marketing recommendations.
- Engage with the public at events to promote Lottery products.
- Travel up to 100% with a state-issued vehicle provided for business use.
- Two years of professional sales experience that includes territory management, product merchandising, and promotional experience. Counter sales, sales of services, and delivery driving do not count as professional sales experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Communications, or a related field substitutes for one year of professional sales experience.
- All applicants must possess and maintain a valid Class D Driver's License.
- Experience selling a major consumer product (e.g., Frito Lay, Nabisco, Pepsi, Philip Morris).
- Experience in gaming or entertainment industries.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Presentation and/or public speaking experience.
- Bi-lingual speaking ability.
This job requires occasionally lifting up to 25-30 pounds and frequently lifting and/or carrying promotional materials and dispenser cases. May involve walking or standing for extended periods or sitting for long durations.
Additional Requirements- Background checks: criminal background and fingerprint check at time of job offer; cannot hire individuals with certain felonies or gambling-related offenses within defined periods.
