Retail Weekend Party and Class Host
Store: MSP‑ROSEVILLE, MN
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress‑free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they’re looking for. Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards as needed to deliver our Brand Promises.
EventCoordination
- Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
- Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
- Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
- Facilitate and implement party add‑ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
- Communicate events with clients and store team members.
- Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
- Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.
- Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
- Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
- Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
- Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions.
- Provide fast and friendly check‑out experience.
- Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
- Educate customer on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
- Assist with Omni‑channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
- Participate in the truck un‑load, stocking and planogram (POGs) processes.
- Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
- Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
- Support shrink and safety programs.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; execute Company policies and standards.
- Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner; remain positive and respectful, even in difficult situations; promote commitment to the organization’s vision and values; project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members.
- Cross‑trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
- Participate in daily store cleanliness activities including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and personable.
- Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others, including guests of all ages and co‑workers.
- Excellent people skills.
- Experience working with children and children’s events.
- Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and non‑verbal communication as well as listening skills.
- Organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem‑solving skills.
- Retail and/or customer service experience required.
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to move throughout the store.
- Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
- Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.

- Public retail store setting, including climate‑controlled areas; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work may be required; work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.

- Familiar with ladder for high shelves, glass cutter, heat press, etc.
