This position will lead the communications efforts for the Gambling Control Board by working with the leadership team on strategic communications, planning, and acting as a spokesperson for the agency. The incumbent will advise and manage project execution for internal and external stakeholders and will supervise the day‑to‑day work and long‑term strategic communication plan for the agency.
The incumbent will oversee the daily output of written, graphic, presentational, social media and educational communications for the agency and its various divisions. This position oversees the Communications staff and manages the production schedule, assignments and output for all communications and educational materials. This position will be part of the GCB leadership team.
This position is located in Roseville, MN and may have the ability to telework up to 50% of the time.
Responsibilities- Lead strategic communications planning and execution for the Gambling Control Board.
- Act as spokesperson for the agency, responding to media and stakeholder inquiries.
- Supervise the Communications staff, overseeing assignments, production schedules and quality of outputs.
- Develop and manage written, graphic, presentational, social media and educational communications.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on project execution and communications initiatives.

- Four (4) years of directly related experience in communications, public relations or marketing.*
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing may substitute for (1 year) 12 months of experience.
- A master's degree in a directly or closely related field may substitute for up to 18 months of experience.
Experience to be credited must include the following:
- Planning, promoting or coordinating marketing and/or outreach events.
- Supervising and leading the work of others, including assigning and reviewing project work.
- Creating educational materials and/or providing oversight to the production of educational materials to be presented to internal and external stakeholders.
- Additional managerial or supervisory experience in a communications, marketing or public relations office.
- Demonstrated proficiency in media relations.
- Experience in public government service/entities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Charitable Gambling Industry.
