Medical Claims Coordinator - Remote | Insurance Billing & Compliance
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Medical Claims Coordinator with strong experience in medical billing, insurance claims processing, and compliance. This role is responsible for accurate and timely submission of medical insurance claims to commercial, government, and managed care payers. The ideal candidate will ensure clean claim submission, monitor claim status, and resolve outstanding issues to maximize first-pass acceptance rates.
Key Responsibilities- Submit medical insurance claims via electronic and manual billing systems.
- Verify claim status and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
- Respond to medical records requests and payer inquiries promptly.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, and state/federal billing regulations.
- Analyze claim trends and implement process improvements for clean-claim performance.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to medical billing best practices.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing, claims processing, and insurance verification.
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, PPO, and commercial insurance plans.
- Proficiency in electronic billing systems and medical coding standards.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in medical billing or claims submission.
- Medical Billing Certification highly desirable.
- Pay: $58,000 - $65,000 annually
