About the JobThe staff accountant position is responsible for preparation of monthly and quarterly journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, assisting with audit requests, and completing routine and non‑routine accounting transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare and enter journal entries for assigned accounts or functions, which may include cash, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, deposits, intangible assets, fixed assets, payables, accrued liabilities, leases, use tax, expense allocations, and credit card expenses.
- Reconcile assigned accounts and maintain supporting detail.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP, Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) controls, and internal policies and procedures.
- Perform all fixed‑asset accounting, including tracking construction in process, recording fixed‑asset additions and retirements, running book and tax depreciation, and producing asset reports.
- Prepare reporting on fixed‑asset spending versus budget.
- Proactively monitor and analyze spending variances on projects, ensuring capitalization and authorization policies are enforced.
- Record fixed‑asset related journal entries and reconcile FAS to the general ledger for all entities.
- Administer company vehicle program.
- Assist with year‑end and interim external audits.
- Aid with internal and external SOX audits.
- Model a continuous‑improvement mindset, identifying process improvements and efficiencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- 1+ years relevant experience demonstrating strong analytical skills and the ability to foster cross‑functional relationships and handle multiple priorities.
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).
- Knowledge and use of ERP systems; JD Edwards experience preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and SOX requirements preferred.
- Ability to achieve results independently and within a team setting.
- Ability to multitask and work well while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical ability.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and far vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Expected Compensation$60,000–70,000 + 5% bonus eligibility.
