Experienced Mechanic

• Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly.
• Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
• Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones.
• Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts.
• Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.
• Performing routine maintenance functions and adjustments on all types of forklifts and trailing equipment in compliance with the manufacturers and company schedules.
• Repairing or rebuilding all or part of equipment systems.
• Performing safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
• Accessing any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance (including inspecting and performing work in, on or under parts of vehicles and trailers).
• Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime.
• Safely walking & standing for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery (including working outdoors in inclement weather).
• Lifting objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 75 lbs. occasionally).
• Safely walking, reaching (including above your head), bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting & kneeling as necessary to perform the job duties.
• Ensuring shop cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
• Applying knowledge and work in accordance with DOT, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Interstate Authority, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other rules and regulations as required.
• Following Erickson Logistics policy and procedures in making all repairs.
• Working in full compliance with the approved safety regulations.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Prompt daily attendance at assigned work location.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

:

• Minimum of 3 years hands-on fleet mechanical experience.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Desire to continue formal education.
• Desire to have a career path in Fleet and/or Maintenance Management.
• Basic welding skills desired (such as Oxy/Acetylene, MIG, and ARC).
