All About On Demand

You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those that are looking for a personalized work schedule.

As an On-Demand TM, you are not included on the posted weekly schedule, but can create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via the myTime mobile scheduling app). Reliability and prompt attendance are essential. You will be expected to pick up shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours). If you do not respond to our contact attempts or fail to work a shift within 5 months, employment may be terminated.

After a position offer, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and a short-term training schedule. The myTime app is used to pick up desired shifts.

All About Service & Engagement

Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. They are knowledgeable about in-store and digital services and solutions that drive adoption and loyalty. They enable quick and easy shopping at checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring quality.

Role skills include:

  • Communicating and interacting with guests to build an inclusive guest experience
  • Blending problem solving and decision making to resolve guest concerns
  • Adapting to different guest interactions
  • Promoting and engaging around benefits, offerings and services

As a Guest Advocate, a typical day may include the following responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a service culture prioritizing the guest service experience
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests
  • Engage with guests to help solve needs
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to resolve issues
  • Thank guests and acknowledge their visit
  • Scan and bag items efficiently and in compliance with safety standards
  • Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
  • Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches and events
  • Explain Target Loyalty benefits and assist with enrollment; direct guests to fulfillment services
  • Explain and demonstrate Wallet and Target App features
  • Handle returns and follow register prompts with leadership support as needed
  • De-escalate situations and recover guest experience per policies
  • Provide easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area
  • Stock supplies during store hours
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • Work safely; report hazards and correct when possible
  • Support guest services such as order pick up, Drive-up orders, and returns; ensure compliance with laws
  • Support cash office processes as needed
  • Other duties based on business needs
