The City of Roseville invites experienced and forward-thinking public-sector leaders to apply for the position of the Director of Parks, Recreation & Libraries. Reporting to the Assistant City Manager, this executive-level role provides strategic and operational leadership for a multi-faceted department that enhances quality of life for residents of all ages.
The Director oversees a large and diverse organization with responsibility for parks and natural resources, park planning and development, recreation and youth services, libraries and cultural arts, facilities, department marketing and communications and administrative operations, along with a workforce of more than 165 full-time employees, 700 part-time and seasonal staff, and an annual operating budget exceeding $50 million.

Salary and Benefits
Annual Salary: $187,579 – $251,374 DOE/DOQ, PLUS an attractive benefits package.
Responsibilities- Lead strategic and operational direction for Parks, Recreation & Libraries, including governance of parks, libraries, recreation programs, facilities, and communications.
- Oversee a large workforce and an annual operating budget of over $50 million.
- Ensure award-winning service delivery, innovation, and community engagement in a growing city.
- Seven years of increasingly responsible experience in parks, recreation and library program administration, including three years of administrative and management responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Major coursework in public administration, recreation or park administration, business administration, horticulture, forestry or related field is preferred.
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license by date of appointment.
