The Maintenance Assistant helps maintain the facility, grounds, and equipment in a safe, efficient, and well-functioning condition. This role supports daily maintenance operations and works closely with nursing and leadership teams to ensure resident comfort, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general upkeep)
- Maintain grounds, parking areas, and common spaces
- Replace light bulbs, clean windows/screens, and perform general facility upkeep
- Respond to maintenance requests and assist with unscheduled repairs as needed
- Follow maintenance schedules, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines
- Coordinate maintenance work with nursing staff in resident care areas
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and incidents promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of tools and equipment
- Maintenance or general facilities experience preferred
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintenance schedules
- Willingness to learn and grow within the role
- Respect for resident privacy and confidentiality
