Mainframe COBOL Developer

Duration: 6+ Months contract with possible to convert FTE.

Note:
This position is either Hybrid for candidate located in Sacramento, CA or Remote for Non-Local.

• Support of COBOL mainframe environment. Design, document, and coordinate desired changes to legacy modules.
• Develop, install, and evaluate application software on the mainframe.
• Support coordination between application architects and developers to ensure design requirements are accurate and deliver the desired ROI for clients.
• Define designs and develop highly complex system requirements. Evaluate, test, debug and implement applications programs in support of client needs.
• Assess architecture and current hardware limitations, define and design highly complex system specifications, input/output process and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Plan, conduct, and technically direct the analysis and resolution of business problems to be solved with automated systems. Design, install, and/or modify operating systems, utility software, and/or database to meet business unit or client needs. Analyze, design, acquire and implement projects for LAN and/or WAN systems.
• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and analyze complex software programs that operate successfully with hardware systems.

• 10+ years of applications development and programming with 3+ years of programming and on‑call support experience coding in a COBOL/MVS/JCL/IBM mainframe environment.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience exposing CICS and COBOL programs as web services via CICS Transaction Server (CTS)
• Hands‑on experience with CICS, TSO, CHANGE MAN, SQL, DB2, Abend‑Aid, Main View, and Xpediter CICS
• Familiarity with Easytrieve and File Aid
• Principles and techniques of design, analysis, computer programming, testing, debugging, implementation, and documentation.
• Healthcare IT experience with healthcare claims, payer, Medicaid, or Medicare systems is highly preferred.
