Role

Summary

As a Medical Assistant
, you will administer and coordinate medical services necessary while creating a positive patient experience within the facility. You will be responsible for performing routine administrative and clinical responsibilities.

Pay Range

$17.50 – $19.50 per hour

Requirements
  • California specific:
    Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a current medical assistant certificate or emergency medical technician certificate from an accredited teaching school and/or provide transcripts of experience as a medical assistant
  • Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the state
  • Ability to administer medications
  • Must possess a current valid driver’s license in good standing in the state of employment and be insured by a designated carrier. This role requires driving for company purposes
  • Localized travel up to 5% may be required
Preferred
  • Graduation from a post‑secondary medical assisting education program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • Current certification from the AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or any recognized certifying body approved by the Board
  • CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant)
  • Two (2) years’ experience or knowledge in behavioral health
  • Experience performing blood draws
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification
  • 1 year as a medical assistant (preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Works as part of the intake team to ensure patients are seen promptly
  • Observes urine samples for drug screens, tests onsite, and packages for laboratory confirmation testing
  • Obtains vital signs and reports findings to nurse when needed
  • Obtains blood samples for standard testing onsite and packages for the laboratory
  • Communicates all relevant information to the leadership team regarding patients and the facility
  • Makes appointments for patients to see physicians, counselors, and case managers, and provides lab work and referrals for additional follow‑up care
  • May be responsible for cash collection and daily balancing
  • May be responsible for managing accounts receivable/payable and deposits
  • Maintains security by following procedures, monitoring logbook, checking in visitors, etc.
  • May be responsible for coordinating appointments for patients
  • May be responsible for running the PDMP for all patients and recording patient information at intake in the Central Registry for that state
  • Maintains and keeps updated all medical records and documentation in the EHR and any lab software programs
  • May be responsible for dropping off lab work at a UPS drop‑off location if the driver does not come in to pick up that day
