YOUR FUTURE STARTS HERE! Grow your career by joining the City of Roseville in the role of Water Treatment Plant Chief Operator. Step into a leadership role that helps safeguard the City’s water quality and reliability. As a Water Treatment Plant Chief Operator, you will guide daily operations at a conventional T5 treatment facility, oversee regulatory compliance and support a highly skilled team dedicated to public health and environmental stewardship.

You will shape process improvements, help plan for future system needs and ensure treatment and distribution activities run efficiently and safely. If you are an experienced operator with strong technical and supervisory skills to make a meaningful impact on the community’s essential water resources, we want to hear from you.

The list established from this recruitment will be used to fill any Regular, Limited Term or Temporary, Part-time vacancies for the duration of the list. The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; a flex and/or hybrid schedule may be available depending on department needs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience:

    Four years of increasingly responsible experience in water treatment activities, including some lead responsibility.
  • Training:
    Equivalent to the completion of an Associate's degree with college course work in environmental practices, chemistry and biology or a related field.
  • License or Certificate:
    Possession of a valid California driver's license by date of appointment. Possession of a Water Treatment Plant Operator Grade 4 (T4) certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board with the ability to obtain a Grade 5 (T5) within one year.
