Location:
Roseville, CA (fully onsite 5 days/wk)
Duration: 12 Month Contract
PR: $28-$30/hr
Must Haves:
- Technical diploma or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as an EMI/EMC Test Technician or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with EMI/EMC testing equipment and procedures, specifically a multimeter
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Keen eye for safety and best practices in the laboratory
Plusses:
- Working experience with a Network Analyzer, Stethoscope/Oscilliscope, and/or WAN experience
- Experience using vibration, shock, and/or drop tables
- Versatile knowledge of different electronic testing methods is a plus
- Pallet jack certification is a plus
- Military background is a plus
Job Responsibilities:
Insight Global Candidate is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electromagnetic Technician to join our client's team, focusing on ensuring our products meet stringent Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) standards. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development and validation of HPE's innovative solutions, guaranteeing product reliability and compliance with industry regulations. You will be working in a dynamic testing This role is close to 90% hands on in the lab, 10% report writing and reviewing.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct EMI/EMC testing on various electrical systems and components, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and other electronic devices.
- Set up and operate specialized test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and conducted/radiated emissions measurement systems.
- Perform shielding effectiveness, conducted emissions, radiated emissions, and susceptibility tests in accordance with relevant industry standards (e.g., FCC Part 15, EN/IEC 61000 series, DNV EMC
06). - Analyze test results, troubleshoot EMI/EMC issues, and collaborate with design and engineering teams to identify and implement effective solutions.
- Document test procedures, results, and findings accurately and comprehensively.
- Maintain and calibrate EMI/EMC test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
- Stay updated on the latest EMI/EMC industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Assist in the design and fabrication of electro-mechanical assemblies and test fixtures.
