Propulsion Integration Engineer

Protingent Staffing is looking for a skilled engineer to lead the integration of turbojet propulsion systems into fighter‑class or unmanned aircraft platforms. The role will act as the primary liaison between the engine OEM and internal program teams, translating manufacturer data into performance analyses and compliance documentation. The engineer will develop and deliver airworthiness evidence to government customers, ensure system‑level performance modeling, coordinate with cross‑functional teams, identify and mitigate integration risks, and support test planning and execution.

• Lead integration of turbojet propulsion systems into fighter‑class or unmanned aircraft platforms.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the engine OEM and internal program teams.
• Translate engine manufacturer data into installed engine performance analyses and compliance documentation.
• Develop and deliver airworthiness evidence to government customers, demonstrating that both the engine and installed configuration meet applicable requirements.
• Support system‑level performance modeling, including thrust, fuel consumption, inlet compatibility, exhaust integration, thermal management, and operability.
• Coordinate with airframe, structures, controls, thermal, and flight sciences teams to ensure successful propulsion integration.
• Identify and mitigate integration risks related to performance, operability, durability, and certification.
• Support test planning, ground/flight test execution, and performance validation as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in propulsion integration or gas turbine engine systems.
• Direct experience integrating turbojet or turbofan engines onto aircraft platforms.
• Experience with fighter aircraft, tactical aircraft (TACAIR), or unmanned systems strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of installed engine performance and airworthiness compliance processes.
• Experience interfacing with engine OEMs and government customers.

• Experience supporting DoD airworthiness certification programs.
• Familiarity with inlet/engine compatibility, operability assessments, and propulsion system control integration.
• Experience with performance modeling tools and engine deck analysis.
• Background in propulsion test and validation (ground or flight test).

• U.S. Citizen Required (Ability to acquire and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or higher).
