Overview
Join the City of Roseville team as a Sports Official/Scorer I/II in the Adult Sports Division. This is a temporary and part-time position in the Parks, Recreation & Libraries Department. Year-round, limited to 25 hours per week for up to 1,000 hours per fiscal year.
Typical schedule:
Sundays 2pm–11pm and weekdays 5pm–11pm. PERS retired annuitants are not eligible.
The position is located at Mahany and Maidu Regional Parks, along with various other City/school facilities. The City of Roseville Adult Sports Division offers leagues and drop-in play for adults in soccer, softball, flag football, volleyball and basketball. This position would require staff to scorekeep and/or monitor Adult Sports leagues and programs in the evening.

QualificationsExperience and Training:
Experience: Experience playing, scoring and/or officiating team sports.
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the tenth (10th) grade and sixteen (16) years of age.
Sports Official-Scorer II
Experience: One season of experience in subject area.
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the tenth (10th) grade and sixteen (16) years of age.
License or Certificate
Possession of CPR and First Aid certificates within six (6) months of hire.
Necessary Special Requirement
If assigned to Adult Sports, must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.

Minors may have preclusions or restrictions in duties assigned and licenses required pursuant to 29 CFR § 570.

The City defines accredited college or university as an institution of higher learning and must be listed on the US Department of Education Database of Accredited Post-Secondary Institutions and Programs website.
Credits earned from accredited institutions on this website will be considered as part of the educational component of the minimum qualifications.
Options for evaluating foreign degrees:
Educational background from a foreign country may be evaluated by an accredited US college or university listed on the US Department of Education database; verification from organizations that provide foreign education credential evaluation services; copy of foreign credential evaluation can be attached; if offered a position, applicants must provide a foreign degree credential equivalency certificate; applicants who do not provide verification will be eliminated.
Process
All candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will have their application scored in a Formula Rate Examination. Supplemental questions will be utilized to determine interview and selection determinations. Final appointment is contingent upon background checks, medical exams, drug and alcohol screening, credit check, license and/or education verification, psychological examination, and/or a Police Department background check process. Some positions require the clearance of a comprehensive Police Department (PD) background check within 12 months of appointment;
if PD clearance is not obtained, the candidate will be advised in advance that security access will be limited to non-PD related systems until clearance is received, and if the candidate ultimately does not clear the PD background it will result in release from City service without appeal rights.
