JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary
Purpose:
The Partners in Education Coordinator is responsible for leading and supporting engagement initiatives that strengthen partnerships between Lamar CISD schools and the community. This role drives collaboration with businesses, organizations, community partners and volunteers to enhance educational opportunities and foster a culture of community involvement. The candidate should have the necessary skills to manage events from planning to promotion to production;
coach team members; and manage volunteers and committees.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Community Engagement & Partnership
* Develop and implement strategies to attract and maintain partnerships with businesses, nonprofit organizations, civic groups, faith-based organizations, and community leaders that support the district's mission.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for existing and potential Partners in Education, ensuring timely communication and high-quality support.
* Identify partnership opportunities that align with district priorities and campus needs, and broker strategic connections between partners and schools.
* Coordinate recognition efforts for district partners, ensuring partnership contributions are highlighted through events, communications, and district platforms.
* Monitor and track resources provided to the district, ensuring appropriate follow-up and accountability.
* Prepare reports, data summaries, and presentations to evaluate the impact of partnerships and volunteer programs.
* Develop content (social media, newsletters, website updates, partner highlights, etc.) that showcases the impact of partnerships and fosters community pride.
Volunteer Management & Support
* Ensure that community volunteers are screened and onboarded in alignment with district procedures and legal requirements.
* Provide training, guidance, and resources to volunteers, ensuring smooth execution of programs and activities.
* Maintain volunteer databases, track volunteer hours, and support campuses in managing campus-based community volunteer programs.
* Develop tools, guides, and communication materials to support principals and campus staff in effective volunteer engagement.
Event Planning & Logistics
* Oversee the planning, promotion, and execution of Lamar CISD's signature events and recognition programs.
* Manage event logistics, including scheduling, vendor coordination, and on-site production.
* Ensure events reflect the district's mission and deliver a high-quality experience for participants.
Campus Support & Customer Service
* Serve as a resource to principals, campus staff, and district departments seeking support for school-community partnerships or volunteer programs.
* Provide coaching, troubleshooting, and hands-on assistance to campuses to strengthen partner relationships and expand community engagement efforts.
* Ensure clear, timely communication with campuses regarding expectations, procedures, and opportunities.
Other
* Support district wide initiatives, campaigns, and crisis communication needs as requested by the Director of Community Relations or Chief Communications Officer.
* Perform all other duties assigned by the Director of Community Relations or Chief Communications Officer.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Experience:
* Previous experience in community relations preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
Education/Certification:
* Bachelor's degree in public relations or communications or related experience
* Valid Texas Driver's License
* Eligible for coverage under the District's vehicle insurance program

Skills:
* Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
* Experience in event planning, volunteer coordination, and partnership development.
* Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse stakeholders.
