Position: Maintenance & Operations Assistant - Splash Pad (Part-Time/Seasonal)

Overview

Responsible for enforcing the city’s Splash Pad rules and policies to ensure a safe, but enjoyable visitor experience. Performs general maintenance of the Splash Pad and Travis Park.

Responsibilities
  • Provides manual labor necessary to operate and maintain the Splash Pad
  • Assists with chemical use, readings, and records
  • Monitors Splash Pad safety
  • Provides excellent customer service to all splash pad attendees
  • Monitors activities and attendees
  • Maintains attendance
  • Courteously advises park visitors of all splash pad rules and regulations to ensure safe use and enjoyment
  • Exercises sound judgement to enforce facility rules
  • Performs opening and closing duties as assigned
  • Issues and monitors use of recreation supplies and equipment
  • Ability to effectively and courteously interact with patrons and the public and develop rapport with participants at varying age levels
  • Communicates to supervisor any issues, concerns, and/or suggestions
  • Operates equipment used in the maintenance of Travis Park
  • Performs maintenance duties, such as general cleaning
  • Inspects grounds, facilities, and park area to ensure cleanliness and safe operation
  • Maintains site or equipment by providing basic repairs and cleaning
  • Performs facility maintenance of Travis Park playground equipment
  • Cleans restrooms and empties trash cans as needed
  • Abides by all policies, procedures, and rules associated with the Safety Program
  • Must be able to work the allocated hours of the position including weekends and holidays
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or successful completion of the General Education Development (GED) test
  • Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License
  • Reliable transportation and liability insurance
  • Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of the following pre-employment checks:
  • Criminal background check
  • Controlled substance screening
