* Maintains equipment on a scheduled basis; maintains maintenance records.
* Grades ditches, elevations, drainage channels, sets culverts and finishes concrete work.
* Performs shop duties as needed.
* Assists with construction projects.
* Supervises a work crew on a project basis.
* Assists other employees with their duties; performs work of lower level positions as necessary.
* Held accountable for all equipment used and uniforms issued.
* Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
** MINIMUM
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
*** High School Diploma/GED.
* 2 years job related experience as an Equipment Operator.
* Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License.
* Herbicide and Insecticide Certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
* Good driving skills and thorough knowledge of and ability to operate required heavy equipment.
* Ability to understand and carry out instructions and complete assignment in a timely fashion.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees.
** STARTING SALARY RANGE:** $20.50 - $25.63 per hour based on qualifications
