- Responsible for all information requests as required under the Public Information Act; receives and processes information requests from the public, County Attorney’s office and other local and state agencies on a daily basis.
- Responsible for department’s accounting of revenue in addition to oversight of daily deposits in coordination with the Fire Marshal’s office; responsible for the reconciliation of deposits in coordination with the Auditor’s Office.
- Responds to department complaints to ensure proper units with Environmental Health are made aware; monitors the status of complaints; ensures accurate locations of complaints using GIS data, proper jurisdictional oversight is correct, and updates are relayed to complainants.
- Assists division manager with special projects that will require the use of institutional knowledge, state and local laws, and creation of professional work product.
- Assists with special projects; cross‑trains duties with peers.
- Backup to all support staff positions; assists all visitors to the office to process payments or submit applications; handles high volume calls that receive daily, as well as processes all paperwork that comes in.
- Trains new employees on all office support functions.
- Responds to and provides direct assistance to incoming telephone calls and in‑person requests from the public, offenders and staff members; provides assistance on active enforcement cases; mediates between property owners and contractors.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
- Must obtain a “Designated Representative License” within 6 months of hire date. Please ask hiring manager for details.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 3 years job‑related experience.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
$18.31 - $27.47 hourly based on qualifications
