Concrete Finisher

Application Instructions

McNamara Companies is seeking an experienced and skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team. This role is a union position and best suited for someone who has experience with highway heavy concrete finishing. This position is intended for the 2026 season, starting in or around April until November.

Pay: $49.63/hour based on union scale

Position Description

Position Description:

• Set forms to specifications to pour concrete, rod-off and finish concrete
• Ability to work on a hand crew or machine crew
• Complete concrete finishing tasks including smoothing, leveling and finishing freshly poured concrete
• Assist laborers who are involved in concrete process
• Ensure that the final product meets quality expectations
• Pass all required classes to be a certified mason (ADA/ACI classes)
• Use hand tools and equipment needed to complete projects
• Promote a safe working environment
• Prepare sites for concrete work including form layout, digging, grading and compacting
• Operates tampers, jackhammers, saws, drills, and other necessary tools
• Shovel concrete in accordance with the foreman's directions
• Strip forms after concrete has set, and clean job site to satisfactory condition
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• CDL class A strongly preferred.
• Ability to work collectively as a team and independently.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Positive attitude, willing to learn, and gets things done
• Maintains order and structure to their daily schedule
• Have a high regard for safety standards
• Ability to work in the outdoor elements surrounded by heavy equipment and loud noises
• Must be extremely vigilant on observing surroundings due to moving equipment
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 18 years of age or older
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work everyday
• Ability to work throughout the entire season, mid
  - April to November, 10-12 hour days
