Job Description
Position Title: Porter
Department: NJ Janitorial
FTE/Classification: Part-Time/Non-Exempt
Reports To: Assistant Director of Maintenance
Location: The Borough of Roselle Park - Senior Center
NJFH Encourages Applications From Qualified Individuals With Varying Abilities.
ShiftMonday through Friday (8:30 pm to 11:00 pm)
Primary FunctionResponsible for cleaning contracted buildings and office space.
Essential Functions- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using specific cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Any other duties deemed necessary for the cleanliness of the building.
- One year of janitorial experience (preferred but not required)
- Ability to get to job site for required shifts
