Job DescriptionDescription:
Design SUSE Linux based computer systems that meet all of the requirements for a full scale migration from SAP-on-AIX to SAP-on-Linux. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 8-10 years of experience.
The Consultant will be expected to have deep experience with SUSE Linux (SLES) at the BASH scripting level. Experience installing SAP on SLES is a huge plus. Also, experience with AIX is a plus.
Job Functions:
- Plan, design, implement and execute complex enterprise level storage solutions from configuration and testing to support of the developed SAP solutions.
- Deliver proof-of-concept configurations and analysis to be demonstrated and presented to internal personnel.
- Responsible for ongoing recommendations and best practices for storage solutions around business continuity, and high availability.
- Responsible for ongoing management of configuration and layout of platform and storage infrastructure.
Skills required include:
- Plan, design, implement and validate integrated solutions for enterprise business applications using x64 servers, storage arrays, and IP & SAN switches.
- In depth Linux knowledge and hands‑on experience;
Red Hat or SuSE preferred. - In depth IP network/switch knowledge and hands‑on experience.
- Proficient in Python, Perl, and/or Linux shell scripting.
- Good hands‑on experience with blade or rack servers is a plus.
- Good hands‑on experience with Fiber Channel storage is a plus.
- Experience in setting up and administering SAP Business Suite software is a plus.
