About the Opportunity: McManimon, Scotland & Baumann, LLC is seeking a talented and motivated attorney to join our Eminent Domain/Condemnation team with 3-5 years of experience representing clients in the acquisition of property for public purposes throughout New Jersey. Relevant work experience should include advising municipalities and other public agencies on the lawful exercise of eminent domain authority, drafting documents relating to the acquisition of property, including purchase and sale agreements and condemnation complaints and related documents, reviewing documents relating to title issues, property valuation and tenant relocation, and drafting and responding to legal briefs in eminent domain litigation.

Experience conducting condemnation commissioners’ hearings and/or trials is preferred, but not required.

• Advise municipalities and other public agencies on the lawful exercise of eminent domain authority.
• Draft documents relating to property acquisition, including purchase and sale agreements and condemnation complaints and related documents.
• Review documents related to title issues, property valuation, and tenant relocation.
• Draft and respond to legal briefs in eminent domain litigation.
• Assist with condemnation commissioners’ hearings and/or trials as needed.

• 3-5 years of experience representing clients in eminent domain/condemnation matters.
• Experience advising public entities and familiarity with NJ eminent domain processes.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and litigation support skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with municipalities, agencies, and internal teams.
