Patent Docket Clerk

Our client is a leading law firm with offices across the country. They are seeking an experienced Patent Docket Clerk to join the team. The position is hybrid with 3 out of 5 days onsite at their office in Roseland, NJ
.

• You bring 4+ years of hands-on experience supporting patent docketing functions
• Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate, preferred
• Comfortable operating in a detail-driven, time-sensitive environment
• Proficient in Outlook and Excel

• Monitor and intake correspondence issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and translate it into actionable docket entries
• Capture and route updates received from international patent agents to the appropriate legal professionals and support teams
• Maintain and update patent prosecution data within the docketing platform to ensure time-sensitive actions are properly tracked
• Coordinate recurring portfolio reviews to confirm records are current and compliant
• Generate and circulate internal and client-facing reports related to patent assets and upcoming obligations
• Prepare and transmit required docket data to external annuity service providers to support ongoing patent maintenance
• Contribute to additional operational needs that support the broader patent administration function

• Statutory deadlines are consistently identified, recorded, and communicated well in advance
• Patent records accurately reflect both domestic and foreign prosecution activity
• Attorneys and staff receive clear, timely information needed to take action
• Portfolio and docket reports are reliable, well-organized, and easy to interpret

Salary Range: $65,000 – 75,000 annually, based on experience

Location: Roseland, NJ – Hybrid
