Job DescriptionOur Inside Sales Representatives work cooperatively with outside sales and other members of the sales organization to grow existing customers, create new customers, and meet and/or exceed monthly sales quotas. This role plays a huge part in the success of our company, and it gives individuals an opportunity to grow as a sales professional while providing our customers an exemplary level of service.
Responsibilities- Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
- Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions.
- Proactively recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability.
- Present price, credit, and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers’ profitability profiles.
- Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns over the phone.
- Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items.
- Obtain accurate information from vendors relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery.
- Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales, and offering promotional sale items.
- Educate customers on features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite when necessary.
- Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
- Fill customer requests for catalogs, information, or samples.
- Remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes, and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor trainings, and trade shows.
- Setup and maintain customer files within company CRM.
- Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction to ensure higher levels of service in future transaction.
- Communicate to the purchasing department unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products.
- Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts.
- Prepare and submit weekly call reports and monthly sales.
- Any other duty, task, or responsibilities as assigned.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- If operating a vehicle for company purposes, a valid driver’s license is required.
- A minimum of one-year business to business sales experience.
- Strong presentation, communication, organization, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Solid problem solving and consultative skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced team sales environment with minimum supervision.
- Experience with MS Office Suite.
- Associate’s Degree preferred.
