About The Job

The Nurse Manager (Director of Nursing) is a member of Med Star Health entity-based Division of Nursing's (DON) leadership/management team and is responsible for the adult inpatient psychiatric unit, child and adolescent psychiatric unit and psychiatric ED unit of organized nursing and patient care services.

• BSN from a nationally accredited program required;
  Master's degree in Nursing or health related field from a nationally accredited program preferred.
• 4 years of RN experience required; 2 years of management and leadership experience preferred, particularly in an inpatient psychiatric environment; at least 2 years of psychiatric RN experience strongly preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross). PMH-BC strongly preferred.

• Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit Highlights
  • 11 bed unit serving 11-17 year-olds
  • Staffed with RNs and psychiatric counselors
  • Heavily based on family therapy
