Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring ACLS, BLS, STABLE certifications, and Labor & Delivery circulating or scrub experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Mother-Baby unit

• Unit includes 9 L&D beds, 1 OR suite, 2 triage beds, and 4 postpartum beds

• Average births per year

• Care for LDRP and patients with obstetrical emergencies, hypertension, and hemorrhage

• Assignments are 12-hour night shifts with scheduling every other weekend or one weekend depending on seniority

• Two 12-hour call shifts are required every 4 weeks

• Closed unit; floating only occurs in emergency measures

• Patient ratios adhere to AWHONN guidelines

• Uses MEDITECH EMR and GE Centricity for electronic fetal monitoring

• Telemetry available with RNs responsible for reading monitoring strips

• Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing in the OR for cesarean sections and titrating critical medications

• Support from charge nurses, house supervisors, and OB techs is provided

• Orientation is completed for all new and incoming employees

• OB/Neonatologist is not in-house 24/7

• Scrubs are provided and color is purple

• Holiday coverage is required as per contract

• Position does not accept previous Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity direct employees from the past year

• Testing on sterile technique may be required as part of orientation

Requirements

• Active Oregon RN license or Compact (NLC) license required

• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and STABLE

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience

• Must have experience circulating and/or scrubbing for cesarean sections

• Must be able to titrate drips such as Pitocin, LR, Fentanyl, and Labetalol

• Two professional references required, including one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years

• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
