The position of Medical Assistant Lab Instructor is a pooled position and applications will be reviewed on an as needed, on-going basis.

As a Part-Time Medical Assistant Lab Instructor
, under the supervision of the Allied Health Coordinator, you will assist in lab and clinical instruction approximately 8-12 hours a week (subject to change). This role requires a comprehensive understanding of current best practices in MA standards, care, and protocols. The position requires traveling to clinical sites with students in Douglas County. The clinical lab instructor must maintain a high level of safety and exercise oversight to ensure the safety of students.
Under rare circumstances, the lab instructor must also be available to assist in didactic instruction.

Minimal
Qualifications:
- Possess a current Certified Clinical Medical Assisting (CCMA) certificate.
- Be academically and experientially qualified for the level of appointment.
- Successful completion of a criminal history clearance.
- Successful completion of a healthcare drug screening.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS card by start date.
- Immunizations as outlined by the Oregon Health Authority.
- Proficiency with instructional and industry technology within 6 months (e.g., word processing, e-mail, learning management system, digital and social media).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or another health care related field from an accredited college or university and two years recent, full-time work experience in a professional medical office
- OR – Associate degree in healthcare related coursework from an accredited college and 3 (three) years recent, full-time work experience in a professional medical office or other clinical facility.
