CHEMISTRY INSTRUCTOR – Faculty Part-Time
The position of Chemistry Instructor is Open Until Filled to create a qualified instructor pool. If you are interested in pushing the boundaries of what education could be for a dynamic community college in a beautiful rural setting, this is the position for you. As the Part-Time Chemistry Instructor, you will teach a full range of chemistry courses for majors and non-majors.

The part-time faculty at Umpqua Community College are committed to facilitating learning using up-to-date pedagogy, technology, and discipline-specific knowledge. All faculty are responsible for teaching in all modalities and keeping current in new modalities that develop in higher education. Although facilitating learning is the primary role, faculty are also engaged in service to the college and student support activities.
ResponsibilitiesTeach a full range of chemistry courses for majors and non-majors. Contribute to student success by applying current pedagogy and technology and participating in college and student support activities. Embrace multiple modalities of delivery as the college evolves in higher education.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Commensurate with State of Oregon requirements of the respective academic and/or technical field. For General Education faculty, a Master’s in the discipline or the equivalent.
PREFERRED (Not Required)
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of community college teaching experience; a minimum of five years of verifiable experience related to the field; online instruction experience preferred, classroom teaching experience desirable.
