Overview
WATER QUALITY AND DISTRIBUTION (POOL) – Faculty Part-Time. The Water Quality and Distribution position is a Pooled Position and applications will be reviewed on an as needed ongoing basis.

The Faculty Part-Time Water Quality and Distribution position, under the direction of the Dean of Career and Technical Education, is primarily responsible for teaching water quality and treatment. This position requires creativity, futuristic thinking, and a commitment to developing this field of study. Evening or offsite classes may be part of the assignment. The faculty members of Umpqua Community College are committed to facilitating learning using up-to-date pedagogy, technology, and discipline-specific knowledge.
All faculty are responsible for teaching in all modalities and keeping current in new modalities that develop in higher education. Although facilitating learning is the main role, faculty are also expected to engage in service to the college and student support activities. The following responsibilities and activities are listed to maintain consistency in applying expectations and aligning duties with evaluation and promotion procedures.

Required Qualifications:
- Commensurate with State of Oregon requirements of respective academic and/or technical field:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering/chemistry/water quality, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university. - Knowledge of best practices in engineering and engineering instruction.
- Knowledge of best practices in Water Quality and Water Distribution Instruction.
Preferred (Not Required)
Qualifications:
- Community College classroom teaching experience.
- Master’s degree in engineering.
- Skill in curriculum development, course revision.
- Online instruction experience.
