Duties- Collaborate closely with CCR&R staff, community partners, and families to support coordinated referrals, shared problem-solving, and access to early childhood mental health, early intervention, or other needed services.
- Provide relationship based, preventative interventions to promote the mental health of infants and young children and address behaviors that put them at risk of suspension/expulsion.
- Support the development and implementation of strategies, using a team approach, to assist providers with supporting the social-emotional development of infants and young children.
- Demonstrate humility and sensitivity to racial, linguistic, cultural, social, economic, individual, and role differences between consultant and provider and between provider and the infant/young child & family.
- Bring observations and discussion questions to reflect supervision sessions.
- Adhere to all data and program requirements, including collection and maintenance of data records.
- Support early childhood professionals with referrals of children and their families to appropriate services as community mental health or early childhood special education services, as necessary.
- Provide group and individual training on overall social and emotional wellness with specific topics related to infant and early childhood development, trauma-informed care, attachment, self-care, and other related topics, as necessary.
- Adept and skilled in engaging in conversations about racism, bias, and equity.
- Maintain high quality documentation and data integrity through Every Child Belongs (ECB) Connect, ensuring timely, accurate records, contributing to statewide reporting, and using data to inform practice and reflective supervision.
- Engage fully in all required Every Child Belongs (ECB) and Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant (IECMHC) professional development, training, coaching, and statewide activities, applying new learning to strengthen consultation practice and maintain alignment with program expectations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to and from locations in Douglas, Klamath and Lake counties and may be required to travel on overnight assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate's degree in early childhood education or related field;
Bachelor's degree preferred; OR Step 10 on the Oregon Registry Online required. - Ability to obtain an endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum three years of experience working in a childcare facility or home-based care environment or other early care and education environment.
- Knowledge of and experience implementing trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.
- Knowledge of and experience implementing the Pyramid Model for Promoting Social-Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children.
- Bilingual preferred.
