The Accounting Clerk provides comprehensive administrative and accounting support across the organization. This role supports Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Accounting, and front-office administrative functions. The position is fully cross-trained and serves as a flexible resource within the administrative and accounting teams.
Work Schedule9-hour shift per day
Two 10-minute breaks and one 1-hour lunch
Overtime may be required, including evenings, weekends, or holidays based on business needs
Responsibilities- Process daily cash applications, invoicing, reconciliations, and assist with collections and credit file maintenance
- Maintain accurate AR records and prepare related reports
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices and payments in compliance with company policies
- Maintain vendor records and assist with audits, accruals, and year-end reporting
- Enter, reconcile, and report operational and financial data, including KPIs and production-related metrics
- Support month-end, year-end, and special accounting projects as assigned
- Provide front-desk reception, phone coverage, and administrative support to internal teams
- Deliver professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain an organized, clean, and professional office environment
- Represent the company with a professional appearance and demeanor
- Assist with additional accounting, clerical, or administrative tasks as needed
- Support special projects assigned by management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Office-based role (approximately 95% indoors)
- Typical office temperature (~70°F)
- Prolonged sitting required
- Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgment
- College degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
- Strong data entry and 10-key skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of databases required
- Experience with accounting or reporting systems is a plus
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision while collaborating across teams
