The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting Heavy Commercial Vehicle risks while ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) risks in line with company policies
- Assess new business, renewals, endorsements, and mid-term adjustments
- Analyse risk profiles including vehicle type, usage, routes, driver history, and claims experience
- Determine appropriate premiums, terms, conditions, and excesses
- Provide underwriting support and guidance to brokers and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with FAIS, FICA, and internal underwriting standards
- Maintain accurate underwriting and policy documentation
- Contribute to portfolio management and profitability
- RE5 qualification with full FAIS credits
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as an HCV Underwriter
- Strong short-term insurance underwriting experience
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
