SUMMARY
Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor‑trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers in accordance with state and federal laws.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Complies with driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and required by DOT.
- Maintains vehicle in accordance with Elkhart Transportation management policy.
- Operates vehicle safely and efficiently, complying with company policy, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
- Supports on‑time delivery by transporting loads on established routes to proper destinations while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Inspects trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and correct load before leaving facility.
- Verifies product count while truck is being loaded.
- Obtains correct acknowledgement or signature and date for bill of lading and necessary documentation; returns properly completed documentation to Transportation Manager.
- Complies with performance measures.
- Duties may vary depending on location.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- CDL B License.
- Prior experience driving large vehicles such as box truck or similar.
- Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices.
- Previous experience delivering and handling freight preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication.
- Organization and attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Time management.
- Systems analysis.
- Mathematical and deductive reasoning.

- Active learning.
Regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee occasionally is required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
- Noise level is usually loud.
On the road, the employee may encounter traffic or other hazardous driving conditions.
