As per REA Collective Bargaining Agreement and experience (Paid through Edu Staff)
EFFECTIVE: 26-27 School Year
Qualifications- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, preferred.
- Head Football coaching experience preferred.
- Must be available to perform coaching responsibilities, games and practices outside of your contractual day. (Daily contractual hours will not be modified to accommodate coaching schedule.)
- Understanding of Michigan High School Athletic Association rules and regulations.
- Football knowledge and playing experience.
- Understanding of Michigan High School Athletic Association rules and regulations.
- Ability to communicate and work well with High School students.
- Ability to communicate and work well with parents, Booster Club and the community.
- Counsel students/athletes about scholarships and importance of grades.
- Expose students/athletes to surrounding colleges.
- Monitor grades of students/athletes in football program(s).
- Meet with parents of all Football Teams (Middle School, Junior Varsity and Varsity) prior to the start of the season.
- Build strong relationships with parents and the school community to develop a culture for academic accomplishment aligned with athletic achievement.
- Monitor high school and middle school football programs.
- Assist with selection of positive, competent coaches for levels involved in the football program, i.e., Middle School, Junior Varsity and Assistant Coaches, as needed.
- Administer and implement football camp, coaching clinic and youth football clinic in grades K-12.
- Set up an Alumni Game/Event, for the football program, prior to the start of the season.
- Prepare and submit a yearly budget and bids to order necessary equipment.
- Responsible for issuing and collecting equipment to/from athletes.
- Completes and maintains necessary paperwork for inventory, budgeting, records, etc.
- Assist football teams in making decisions, planning events and implementing plans.
- Coordinate a practice schedule for the entire season.
- Teach and coach student athletes in the techniques and skills needed to ensure a successful football program.
- Be a positive role model and motivator.
- Attend all meetings as required by the MHSAA and MEGA League.
- Evaluate officials and submit report as required by the MHSAA.
- Other duties, within the athletic department, as may be recognized to be in the best interests of the program.
- Comply with district policies and procedures (i.e., academic eligibility of student athletes, accident reporting, cash handling, travel and transportation requests, parent / assistant / volunteer approval and authorization procedures, etc.).

- At times, the employee may be directly responsible for the safety and well-being of students.
