Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality ambulance response across all service lines.
  • Lead hiring, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and collaborate with HR on final hiring, discipline and dismissal decisions.
  • Manage daily response vehicle coverage utilizing the proper personnel within the budgeted parameters.
  • Monitor daily/weekly metric and budget performance and take necessary steps to correct variances where required.
  • Participate in annual budget development and communicate performance expectations to all divisional supervisory leaders.
  • Provide open communications to managers, supervisors and staff enhancing engagement throughout the division.
  • Coordinate with Billing to ensure the accurate application of charting and billing related data.
  • Ensure the daily readiness of all vehicles and related equipment and make a recommendation for required replacements within the annual capital budget.
  • Monitor staff performance to ensure adequate supervision, consistent performance feedback, timely performance appraisals, appropriate corrective action, equitable promotion opportunities and all other related communications.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances as they pertain to EMS operations within the respective jurisdictional region.
  • Maintain 24/7 availability via cell phone for operational needs and ensure coverage during absences.
  • Develop a monthly report to the Director of Michigan for the review and analysis of operational data to ensure all metrics and performance criteria are met.
  • Coordinate procedures and regulations as well as attend meetings with agencies served.
  • Participate in development, evaluation, and revision of protocols. Handle personnel functions for staff; ensure training meets state certification requirements; monitors and evaluates work.
  • Serve as liaison between operations division, hospitals, and public safety agencies.
  • Function as Inventory Manager for schedule II and IV medications.
  • Research and implement new technologies and service improvements.
  • Respond to inquiries, complaints, and service-related questions.
  • Ensure the maintenance and completion of records, reports, and other information required in this field. Prepare and submit various reports as required by local, state, and federal governments; oversee filing and maintenance of reports, records, and other documents as required by federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
